Following our visit to Twyford with you in October, Rob indicated we might have a possible solution to the difficulties some residents have accessing service 100. I am pleased to confirm that we have been able to revise service 113 (Oakham – Somerby – Melton Mowbray) and that it is currently out to tender with revised specifications. This means that from 26th January 2009 the service will provide 4 off-peak return journeys a day from Twyford (Main Street) to both Melton Mowbray and Oakham, along with inter-village links to the east of Twyford. I attach a copy of the tendered timetable for your information. Proper timetable leaflets will be produced in due course. More » The bus will come down from Burrough and turn at Church Lane, which will be the pick-up and drop-off point for passengers. In the short term the service will operate on a hail and ride basis, ie with no fixed stop, and we will start the process of removing the redundant stops on Main Street. We have now awarded the contract for the 113, which will provide off-peak journeys serving Main Street, Twyford, from Monday 26th January. It has been won by Veolia, who already operate a number of bus services in the Melton area, including service 19 to Nottingham.
